The premise

Fashion is usually shown after the labor disappears. Each episode starts earlier, with the people, machines, decisions, compromises and business realities that turn an idea into a garment.

From design to runway.

01

Design

The idea becomes instructions.

02

Print

Color moves from screen to fabric.

03

Cut

Every line becomes a physical decision.

04

Sew

Construction tests the design.

05

Deliver

The garment enters the world.

The hosts

Chuck + Vilma

Chuck Coleman

Photographer, brand builder and producer. Chuck follows an idea from its first impression to the finished campaign and asks whether the business behind it makes sense.

Vilma Biliene

Model, producer and creative partner. Vilma brings the model’s eye and the producer’s discipline to fit, movement, presentation and the decisions a camera will not let you hide.

Subject Zero yellow and black identity

A separate King of Steam project

Subject Zero

Research, containment and control. Subject Zero remains in its own yellow-and-black visual world and follows what survives when a digital concept becomes fabric and has to live on a body.
